Elegantly written, only one question - what are you using to get your positive and negative images into the haar format and then xml?

Cheers,

Hi Vanderlin. Soft bodies in box2d, wow! Is this using Open Frameworks? Would there be any way of seeing how this was done? I've been losing my hair for a week now trying to understand and implement pressure soft bodies or some kind of pseudo soft bodies in box2d and OPENGLES, especially painting them in. I love your mounds example too. If you have source and would be kind enough to share some, or even a sentence or two about the algorithm of creating something similar, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Todd I was wondering how many positive vs negative samples you used to build this example?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Kind regards,

Very nice work you have done. I am just starting using OpenCV and OpenFrameworks. I'm trying to get as many samples as I can get to learn how to better use these two libraries.
I am currently working on a project that has to recognise the silhuete of a person when she is filmed head-on, just like you on your vide.
Could you please share your source code? I would very much appreciate it. If so could you e-mail me at fmag(at)cocinfar.com?

Thank you,

Kind Regards,

Fernando

Dan, That is really interesting. I would love to do an eye tracking experiment on a work of art and then compare that to the pixel flow. Lets get on this :)

OK -- I am not an artist, so I won't use the right wording here, but...

In art and architecture, one often speaks about how the eye moves over a piece. Techniques like chiaroscuro are used to focus the viewers' attention, etc.

So the question is this: How well can you use your pixel flow to predict visual flow? Or, alternately, how might a record of eye tracking on an image allow you to back-calculate the pixel flow?

Hello,

I work with OpenCV, but for the location of objects I use objectmarker but it's not very practical. What software do you use in your video to retrieve objects?

Thanks for all

Hi!
Very nice, would be real fun in a live installation :)

Could you a say a bit more in how you're computing the "pixel flow"?
Is it like optical flow?
Any refs would be appreciated.

Hi

I'm at University of Zaragoza, Spain. I'm working on an app that counts the number of boxes in a small warehouse. For this project I'm using OpenCV, and I'm having some problems with the images.
I would be very grateful if you could send me your fabulous app to use it into my project and to make my life easier.

Thanks for all

But you say "a vector from p1 to p2", isn't it should be p2 - p1 instead of p1 - p2?

to get the binary image I am doing a background subtraction then a dilation of the image. I does get tricky when you are where gray tones but with brightness and contrast stretching you can fix it.

I just started an implementation of this sorta thing using chains of objects sprung to the contours - much more processor intensive, I like your approach better and would love to use it. Please keep us updated.

Hi Todd

I am a student at Westminster University, London, and am currently working on a project where I am trying to use opencv's haartraining to recognise hand gestures. I have positive and negative samples, but don't really know where to go from here...or how to do it?

I am trying to follow a few guides, but they make no sense to me as I am new to opencv/openframeworks/c++...

Also, my haartraining.exe application quits as soon as I open it...is this normal?

If you have any advice I would appreciate this greatly.

Kind Regards

Mark Steedman

Nice work. I'd been trying to get delaunay triangulation to behave properly for the contour, but have been hitting some real issues. Nice to see someone conquer it perfectly.
